Registrations now open for the new edition of Domoschool
Applications are now open for the 2026 edition of Domoschool, the International Alpine School of Mathematics and Physics organized by ARS.UNI.VCO E.T.S. in Domodossola, Italy.
Over the years, Domoschool has become an increasingly important international meeting point for PhD students, postdoctoral researchers, young scientists, and scholars interested in advanced topics in mathematics, theoretical physics, cosmology, and related interdisciplinary fields.
The school is held in the unique alpine setting of Domodossola and combines high-level scientific training with opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and cultural exchange. According to the organizers, the programme traditionally includes around 18–22 hours of lectures and seminars delivered by internationally recognized academics and researchers, alongside networking activities, public lectures, and moments dedicated to discovering the cultural and natural heritage of the Ossola Valley.
The 2026 edition will feature an international group of lecturers working at the forefront of mathematics and theoretical physics. Among the confirmed speakers is Dr. Veronica Fantini from CNRS at Laboratoire Mathématique Orsay in France, who will deliver lectures on Resurgence and Cohomology in Quantum Field Theory. Prof. Gary Shiu from the University of Wisconsin–Madison will present a course titled Topological Data Analysis in Physics, exploring innovative connections between physics and data science.
The programme will also include lectures by Prof. Pietro Antonio Grassi of the Università del Piemonte Orientale, focused on BRST and BV-BRST Methods in Quantum Field Theory, and by Prof. Žiga Virk from the University of Ljubljana, who will teach a course on Computational Topology. Together, these topics reflect the strongly interdisciplinary character of Domoschool, bringing together geometry, topology, quantum field theory, and modern computational methods.
The school is designed especially for young researchers and advanced students who wish to deepen their knowledge through direct interaction with leading international experts. Beyond the lectures, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with colleagues from different countries and research backgrounds, fostering collaborations in an informal and stimulating academic environment.
The organizers describe Domoschool as a unique combination of scientific excellence and cultural experience, thanks to its location in the heart of the Italian Alps and its international atmosphere. The initiative continues to strengthen the role of Domodossola and the Ossola Valley as a place for advanced scientific education and international academic dialogue.
Registrations for the 2026 edition are already open. Participants who complete their registration before the end of May can benefit from a reduced early registration fee, while the final application deadline is set for the end of June.
